Midwest Comfort Heating & Cooling has kept Des Moines-area homes comfortable since 2007. Brian Stenger — who grew up in Beaverdale and graduated from Hoover High School — started the company out of his garage after nearly three decades in the local HVAC trade. The idea was simple: treat customers honestly, do quality work, and stand behind it the way a family-owned business should.

Nineteen years later, that hasn't changed. Brian's son Jordan Stenger runs day-to-day operations as General Manager (a Roosevelt High School and Upper Iowa University grad, second-generation operator since 2020). The crew has grown to nine — enough to handle real install work across the metro while still small enough that every customer talks to someone who knows their system.

While much of the HVAC industry has been rolled up by out-of-state private-equity investors, we've stayed intentionally independent. Same family, same crew, same standard — decisions made in Des Moines by the people who work the trucks, not by a boardroom answering to shareholders.
