MidAmerican Energy

MidAmerican Energy runs efficiency rebate programs for qualifying residential HVAC equipment installed by participating contractors. Typical covered categories include high-efficiency furnaces, central air conditioners, heat pumps (including cold-climate and ductless), smart thermostats, and whole-home dehumidifiers.

Rebate amounts and eligibility windows change annually and by equipment tier. We handle the rebate paperwork directly for equipment we install — you don't pay us to do it.

Alliant Energy

Alliant Energy runs a separate rebate program for its Iowa electric customers, covering similar categories — high-efficiency HVAC, heat pumps, and smart thermostats. If your electric bill is from Alliant rather than MidAmerican, we run the rebate through their program.

Federal (2026)

25C Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit: Ended for installations completed after December 31, 2025. Installs completed in 2025 still apply on that year's return.

HEEHRA / HOMES (Inflation Reduction Act): State-administered high-efficiency and whole-home retrofit programs are still rolling out in Iowa. Availability, income limits, and covered equipment vary; check current Iowa program status directly rather than plan around them.

Honest caveat

Rebate programs change. We check every one live.

A rebate promised in a marketing document six months ago may not exist this quarter. We check every rebate at the time we quote — and we don't build a quote around a rebate that isn't actually available for your equipment and your utility.

Common questions

Do you file the rebate paperwork for me? +

Yes — for equipment we install through MidAmerican Energy's or Alliant Energy's rebate programs, we submit the paperwork directly. You get a copy for your records.

How do I know if I'm a MidAmerican or Alliant customer? +

Your utility bill shows the provider. In most of the Des Moines metro core (Des Moines, West Des Moines, Urbandale, Ankeny, Waukee) homes are on MidAmerican; some outer areas are on Alliant.

Is the federal 25C tax credit still available? +

Only for installations completed on or before December 31, 2025. Installs completed in 2026 no longer qualify for 25C. Other state-administered IRA programs (HEEHRA / HOMES) are still rolling out in Iowa — check status.
